A little more

The mountains around us are on fire. The fire actually started in Franschhoek, but the wind drove it over the mountains. Within five hours, Yonkershook ran down  towards the town. Eventually a fierce fire was contained.

Many people helped extinguish the fire, but unfortunately some buildings were damaged. Such a fire can be catastrophic!

Nevertheless, I was surprised at how people got together. Needs were communicated in our neighborhood WhatsApp group. First, a sweet drink and energy bar for  people fighting  fire.

After that, old furniture, beds, bedding, blankets, food, and everything else that helped people rebuild their burnt down homes was sought. Without hesitation, people raised their hands and said what they had. Will it help? Where can they deliver things?

Someone gave me the details of the bank and the money started to flow.

It was amazing to see how quickly people get involved to help others and how it makes a difference in people's lives when others shake hands. The individuals didn't make much of a difference, but a few people together made a big impact.

This reminds me  of a thread that can  easily break with just that one thread. But when several threads are woven together, it doesn't break easily.

Unfortunately, many people do not understand this simple formula. Some people are so focused on themselves that they are unaware of the needs around them. As a result, people are missing out on  growth opportunities. A pleasant chance. People get poorer when they don't give.

This leads to instructions that you should not only do something to help others, but  encourage others to do good. We need to help them become more sensitive to seeing the needs of others. Then we must help them help those in need by bearing their burden and relieving their needs.

This verse says it very well: 24 Let's see how original we can be to promote love and help ...

This is self-evident to many. Sowing love and doing good things to others is not so easy for others. Therefore, we need to  do good things to others and so on. We must give them  a good experience, like a fire burning to  do good things.

Go and find a place. Shut up and guide the Holy Spirit to those who need a little motivation to reach out to others. May the world be a different place for us, who receive a lot of share with others and thus help others  make a difference.

Then we make  more than just a small difference.

 Reflection

Do you do good things for others Do you do good for others, just as they  do good for others?  Who do you need to serve next?

 prayers

Father, I don't always understand this instruction. I thought  I had to do good, but  I realized that I had to do good to motivate others  to share your grace with others. .. help
